The Business Development Center (BDC) is a Jordanian non-profit organization committed to economic development and building a better life for all Jordanians. To achieve these goals, the BDC assists Jordanian enterprises in realizing their full potential by enhancing their competitiveness and efficiency, thus preparing them to compete successfully in regional and international markets. Additionally, this assistance fosters job creation and improves the income of Jordanian workers. To further these objectives, the BDC will be hosting the 1st Regional Conference on Developing Service Markets and Value Chains in Amman, Jordan from February 19-21, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Jordan Upgrading and
Modernization Programmer (JUMP)
Is an Independent National
Program for the industrial small and medium SMEs enterprises. JUMP is a joint
Endeavour between the public and private sectors, it provides technical
assistance, training and partial grants to industry to strengthen the managerial
capabilities and technological capacities of SMEs in Jordan. As a national
programmer for upgrading and modernizing Jordanian SMEs, JUMP was endorsed by
the Jordanian Cabinet in October 2003. It is overseen by a 12 member Steering
Committee, equally comprised of representatives of the private and public
sectors, and headed by the Minister of Industry and trade and deputized by
Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry.
The services provided by JUMP to industry include: Diagnostic and follow-up,
Capacity building, Marketing, Production, Organization and human resources,
National linkages programmer (NLP), and Financial restructuring .
