The Business Development Center (BDC) is a Jordanian non-profit organization committed to economic development and building a better life for all Jordanians. To achieve these goals, the BDC assists Jordanian enterprises in realizing their full potential by enhancing their competitiveness and efficiency, thus preparing them to compete successfully in regional and international markets. Additionally, this assistance fosters job creation and improves the income of Jordanian workers. To further these objectives, the BDC will be hosting the 1st Regional Conference on Developing Service Markets and Value Chains in Amman, Jordan from February 19-21, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The Amman Chamber of Industry is
a leading Jordanian private sector organization dedicated to the development of
Jordan’s industrial sector through diversified range of services and activities,
some of which are unique in the Arab world.
The Chamber serves as a forum for the views of the industrial sector and
maintains close cooperation with all, the government and national institutions,
responsible for economic planning and administration.
Established in 1962, as a non-profit organization representing the industrial
sector and a main reference organization for information on industry and the
economy. The Chamber has about 7500 members from the Manufacturing , Mining,
Energy and Information Technology production industries, varying in size from
the large to the medium and small.
The functions and duties of the Chamber are wide-ranging and divers. The
Chamber’s main concern is the continued growth, well-being and development of
the Jordanian economy in general, and the advancement of the industrial sector
in particular. It has consistently shown initiative and dynamism, making many
significant contributions to the national dialogues. This has earned the Chamber
the respect of all other economic institutions and parties in Jordan, and a
position of leadership in the private sector.
