The Business Development Center (BDC) is a Jordanian non-profit organization committed to economic development and building a better life for all Jordanians. To achieve these goals, the BDC assists Jordanian enterprises in realizing their full potential by enhancing their competitiveness and efficiency, thus preparing them to compete successfully in regional and international markets. Additionally, this assistance fosters job creation and improves the income of Jordanian workers. To further these objectives, the BDC will be hosting the 1st Regional Conference on Developing Service Markets and Value Chains in Amman, Jordan from February 19-21, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

AABFS Brief

The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences (AABFS) is one of the Organizations for Joint Arab Action, and not-for-profit institution, owned by the League of Arab States. Founded in 1988 and based in Jordan, it enjoys full diplomatic status, financial, and administrative independence. AABFS is considered to be the only Arab academic institution that provides an integral spectrum of activities (education, training, research and publication, consultancy, and global certification).

Our mission is to achieve sustained commitment to the development of human resources, adoption of state-of-the-arts information technology, and the enhancement of performance standards of the Arab banking and financial industry, in particular, and in the Arab national economy, in general.

Our vision is to provide solid education, training, and consulting services that meet the most stringent requirements of the market in a knowledge-based society.
In training professionals, we our goal is to meet the highest expectations and needs of employers. The AABFS continually seeks to partner and form strategic alliances with distinguished institutions from across the world.

The Small & Medium Enterprises Center (SME) Center was established by the Arab Academy for Banking & Financial Sciences in 2004. With regional outreach, the center is headquartered in Amman, yet operates at a Pan-Arab Regional level.

The center aims to build the capactiy SMEs and serve as a hub for SMEs in the Arab world through its diversified services & networking activities, such as training, granting diplomas and certificates, consultancy, research, serving as a trusted source of information, providing connections with international donors & facilitating funding of Entrepreneurs.

The center provides two kinds of diplomas; one tailored to entrepreneurs which provides the necessary skills, knowledge & information for setting-up a business. The second diploma is tailored to credit lenders and provides lending process clarity and highlights the advantage and importance of those enterprises to the future economy of a nation.
